[Omi takes the compliment without a moment's detraction from the issue at hand.]
Nothing explicit. He backpedaled very quickly when I made clear I'd noticed the careless phrasing. On reflection, this seems strange as well. He acted like someone that had been caught, rather than like someone that had suffered an unfortunate word choice. If he is the culprit, it's my guess that after that moment he was much more careful in what he said to me.
However, based on the conversation up to that point, he does seem interested in testing and provoking the local law enforcement. I think it's a challenge.
I also got him to admit knowing both of the victims prior to their murders, although neither one was known very well. The fact that another murder occurred only two days after that ominous word choice...
[Omi shuts his eyes. He really should have said something sooner. Maybe if he had...]
It's very possible this is all a large coincidence. But I can't in good conscience ignore this many signs.
In my experience, very few incidents of such nature ever turn out to be true coincidences. This man is more than likely connected somehow, and we cannot ignore any such clue, whether he is "testing" us or not. The truth must be uncovered and these murders must be put to a stop.
[Edgeworth is not too fond of the fact that as Chief Prosecutor, he is no longer as active in many investigations outside the courtroom. However, this is one case which he can't simply hand over to someone else. Only the best of his employees are working on it, and he will join them shortly.]

Thank you. I don't have anything more in my notes, but please contact me if I can be of any further assistance. I badly want the one responsible for these murderers to be brought to justice.
[Pause. That's an unnerving prospect, considering it was a position of answering questions under a code of full honesty in front of an audience-- let alone an audience of people of the law.
But he really wants Ken's murderer to be punished, doesn't he? If this is what it takes...]
